About New Valley

New Valley Governorate is one of the governorates in Egypt. It is in the southwest of the country, near the Nile, Sudan, and Libya. It is in the south of Egypt's Western Desert (a part of the Sahara Desert). The governorate that covers about half of Egypt's land is the country's biggest and least populated. It is also one of the biggest subnational divisions on the African continent and the world. In size, the New Valley Governorate is just a little bigger than the country of Iraq. All of the people who run the country live in a town called Kharga. The name of the New Valley Governate comes from the New Valley Project, which aims to water parts of the Western Desert.
