Hiroshima is the capital and largest city of the prefecture of Hiroshima. It is also the largest city in the Chgoku region, with other major cities like Fukuyama, Kure, and Higashihiroshima. People in Hiroshima Prefecture live on the Seto Inland Sea, which is across from the island of Shikoku. It is bounded on the north by the Chgoku Mountains. Hiroshima Prefecture is one of three prefectures in Japan that have more than one UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is one of the three.
