Miyazaki Prefecture is a prefecture in Japan. It is on the island of Kysh and is part of the country. As of June 2019, there are about 1,073,054 people in Miyazaki Prefecture. The prefecture has a land area of 7,735 km2 (2,986 sq mi). Miyazaki Prefecture is on the north side of ita Prefecture, on the northwest side of Kumamoto Prefecture, and on the southwest side of Kagoshima Prefecture. Miyazaki is the capital and largest city of the Miyazaki Prefecture, with other major cities like Miyakonoj, Nobeoka, and Hyga also in the area. Miyazaki Prefecture is in southeastern Kyosh on Japan's Pacific coast. It has a coastline that goes from Nobeoka near the Bungo Channel to Shibushi Bay in Kushima.
