The parish of Saint John (St. John) is on the east side of the island. It is the home of one of the secondary schools in the city. The Lodge School. Some of the parish's cities and towns are Ashford and Kendal, which are both in the county. A church called St. John's Parish Church is in this town. It has a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean from its perch on Hackleton's Cliff, which is on the East Coast of the island. In its southeast corner, the shoreline turns to the north, forming a small bay called Conset Bay. The oldest primary school on the island is Society Primary, which is on the north side of the island. This building has been around for more than 100 years. It was built by the Codrington College.
