Kapan Postal code
Kapan is a town in southeast Armenia. It is the administrative centre of the city of Kapan and the provincial capital of Syunik Province. There, it is in the valley of the Voghji River. It is on the north side of Mount Khustup. People in Kapan were 43,190 when the 2011 census was done. This was down from 45,711 when the census was done in 2001. However, the town has a population of about 34,600 people as of 2016. There are a lot of people in Kapan, which is the most populous town in the province of Syunik and the whole area of southern Armenia. The word Kapan comes from the Armenian verb kapel/gabel, which means "to lock." It refers to valleys surrounded by mountain chains that are linked together.
