Tavush Postal code

Tavush is a province of Armenia that is in the northeast of the country. It is bordered by Georgia to the north and Azerbaijan to the east. Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Lori provinces are all inside of Tavush. They are all to the south, southwest, and west of Tavush. There is a town called Ijevan that is both the capital and the largest city in the province. The name of the province comes from Tavush, which is a variant of the name of the Tuchkatak canton of the ancient Utik province of Armenia. It was first used in the 9th century as the name of a 9th-century Bagratid fortress near Berd.
