Island of Youth is the second-largest island in Cuba and the seventh-largest island in the West Indies, but it isn't big enough to be a country (after Cuba itself, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and Andros Island). When the island was called the Isle of Pines until 1978, it was called the Isle of Pines. At 2,200 km2 (850 sq mi), it covers an area the size of Texas. A city called Nueva Gerona is the capital and largest. The second-largest and oldest city is called Santa Fe in the middle and is also called Santa Fe.
