Samana is a province in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. It is on the Samana Peninsula. Capital: Santa Barbara de Samana, or "Samana," is the place where most people live. People live in this province on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in the northeastern corner of the Dominican Republic. There are mountains that make up almost all of it. It is known for that. Samana has a lot of beaches. Samana used to be bigger, but it was split up during the Trujillo era. It used to cover the area that is now the Mara Trinidad Sanchez province.
