Guatemala City (Spanish: Ciudad de Guatemala), also known as Guatemala or Guate, is the capital and largest city of Guatemala and the most populous urban area in Central America. The city is in the south-central part of the country, in a valley called Valle de la Ermita, which is in a mountain range (English: Hermitage Valley).
