Bekes Postal code
Bekes is a county or megye in the south-eastern part of Hungary, near the border with Romania. With the Hungarian counties of Csongrad, Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok, and Hajd-Bihar, it has a lot of land. People in Bekes county live in the town of Bekescsaba, which has the county seat. Because the county is also part of the Danube?Kris?Mures?Tisa euroregion, it has a lot to offer. As a Slovak word, it is called Bekeska upa. As a Romanian word, it is Judetul Bichis. After the Hungarians took over the area, Bekes and its surroundings were owned by the Csolt clan. There was a castle called Bekes, which means "peaceful." It may have been named after its first steward like many other castles.
