It is called Kalimantan Tengah in Indonesia. This is the central part of Indonesia. It is one of five provinces in Kalimantan, which is the Indonesian part of Borneo, and it has a lot of different kinds of people living there. At the 2010 census, it had more than 2.2 million people. The 2015 Intermediate Census showed that number had risen to 2.49 million, and the 2020 Census showed that number had risen even more to 2.67 million. Between 1990 and 2000, the population grew at a rate of almost 3.0% per year, making it one of the fastest growing provinces in Indonesia at that time. In the decade from 2000 to 2010, the growth rate slowed dramatically to about 1.8% per year, but it rose again in the decade beginning in 2010. Central Kalimantan has a lot more Dayaks than any other province in the region. They are the people who lived in Borneo before Europeans came.
