Fukushima ken is a prefecture in Japan. It is in the Thoku region of the island of Honshu. 1,810,286 people live in Fukushima Prefecture as of 1 May 2021. It has an area of 13,783 square miles (5,322 sq mi). Niigata Prefecture is to the west; Gunma Prefecture is to the southwest; Tochigi and Ibaraki are to the south. Miyagi Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecture are to the north. Niigata, Niigata, Gunma, and Tochigi Prefectures are all nearby. All of Fukushima Prefecture, from the capital city of Fukushima to the most important cities like Kriyama and Aizuwakamatsu, are in Fukushima. As you can see, Fukushima Prefecture is on Japan's eastern Pacific coast. It's also home to Lake Inawashiro, which is the fourth largest lake in Japan. Fukushima Prefecture is the third-largest prefecture in Japan, after Hokkaido and Iwate Prefecture. It is split into three parts by mountain ranges: Aizu, Nakadri, and Hamadri.
