Yamaguchi Prefecture is a prefecture in Japan. It is in the Chgoku region of the island of Honshu. This is how many people live in Yamaguchi Prefecture as of February 2018. Yamaguchi Prefecture is next to Shimane Prefecture to the north and Hiroshima Prefecture to the east, so it has a lot of land. You can find the capital, Shimonoseki, in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Ube, Shnan, and Iwakuni are some of the other big cities there, as well. At the western end of Honshu, Yamaguchi Prefecture has coastlines on the Sea of Japan and Seto Inland Sea. It is separated from the island of Kyushu by the Kanmon Straits, which separate them.
